Haven't done so already? Head over to Twitch.tv and click on Sign Up in the top-right corner. You can simply do this on your computer or mobile phone, or any other device you like that has a browser. I recommend you to use a mobile phone because this makes it very easy to you to set it all up. Later, you can also use your phone to adjust your streaming settings on the fly. - On your streaming device, go to the Channel Store
- Can you find the Twitch app? If so, get it on your streaming device with Add Channel
- When it’s installed, open it. You will see a unique activation code on the screen
- Go to Twitch.tv/activate in your browser and use this code
- Click on activate to complete the process

Connect Your PlayStation 3 or 4 With Twitch Tv Activate
These steps usually work for the PlayStation 3 or 4. If you have a PlayStation 5, read further because you have different options there. Here you go:
- Visit the Playstation Store on your streaming device
- Search for Twitch
- Install Twitch, and open it after it’s installed
- If you have to, sign in. You will see a unique activation code on the screen
- Go to Twitch.tv/activate in your browser and use this code

Connect Your PlayStation 5 With Twitch Tv Activate
Do you have a PlayStation 5? Then you have everything you need to be live in a few simple steps. And of course, we’re going to use Twitch Tv Activate here as well.
- Visit the Playstation Store on your streaming device
- Search for Twitch
- Install Twitch, and open it after it’s installed
- Follow the directions on the screen to link your Twitch account to PlayStation Network (btw, if you already linked your Twitch account to a PS4 before, you can migrate that to PS5.)
- Do you see a unique activation code? Great. You can now go to Twitch.tv/activate in your browser and use this code, or you could scan the QR code
- When you choose to visit Twitch.tv/activate to enter the code, click on activate to complete the process
Note: A difference you will notice with the PlayStation 5, is that two-factor authentication is required to stream (even if you migrate your linked Twitch account from the PS4).
How Do You Start Streaming On The PlayStation?
Once you have connected your PlayStation with your Twitch account by scanning the QR code or visiting the Twitch Tv Activate website, you can go live!
You can follow these steps for any PlayStation you have.
What you do, is booting up the game you want to stream. It's awesome that Twitch will automatically put you in the right category of the game you’re playing. If you’d like to select a custom go-live notification and add in additional tags for optimal searchability as well, I recommend you to use the Twitch Android or iOS app.
Then, simply press the Create button (or Share button) on your controller and select Broadcast (gameplay) from the create options (or Share Menu). Now you can choose to select Twitch.
Another way for the PlayStation 5, is to go to your customized Control Center and select Broadcast from there.
If you want to, you can adjust your video quality from the Capture and Broadcasts section of the System menu.
Click on Go Live (or Select Broadcasting) and you’re live streaming! To stop streaming, you can press the Create button (or Share button) again, select Broadcast, and then select Stop Broadcasting.
Btw, did you know there was a built-in microphone in your DualSense controller? Crazy, right. You can choose to use that microphone to let your viewers hear your voice. The DualSense controller can only be used for the PS5.
Recommended: The PS5 HD Camera

Connect Your Xbox With Twitch Tv Activate
On the Xbox, the steps are almost the same as on the PlayStation. It’s only the story that’s called different, as you will see.
- Visit the Xbox Store on your streaming device
- Search for Twitch
- Download Twitch, and open it after it’s installed
- Once you open the app, you will spot a unique activation code on the screen. It could be that you have to click on the Broadcast Tab at the top of your screen first.
- Go to Twitch.tv/activate in your browser and use this code
- Click on activate to complete the process.
You will now be able to stream the content on your Xbox to Twitch.
How Do You Start Streaming On The Xbox?
Are you done with Twitch Tv Activate on the Xbox, and do you want to know how to stream? These steps are for both the Xbox Series X and S.
I assume you have already downloaded the Twitch app by now (from the Xbox Store or Microsoft Store). Open the Twitch app and select the Broadcast tab which should be at the top of your screen. You can press Select Broadcasting to go live.
When you want to stop streaming, you simply press the Xbox button on your controller, go to the Twitch application from the menu, and select Stop Broadcasting.
You will only broadcast the game that you’re playing. Once you tab out of the game whilst broadcasting, your viewers will see a frozen (pause) screen.
Same as for the PlayStation, Twitch will automatically put you in the right category of the game you’re playing. If you’d like to select a custom go-live notification and add in additional tags for optimal searchability as well, then use the Twitch Android or iOS app.

Connect Your Roku Device With Twitch Tv Activate

A Roku TV is great for watching Twitch, not for streaming your gameplay to Twitch. This makes sense, as it is not a gaming console like the Xbox or PlayStation. However, there are ways to connect your Xbox or PlayStation to a smart TV via an HDMI cable.
For example, use the HDMI cable that’s included with your PlayStation. Plug one end into the HDMI (Out) port on your PlayStation, and plug the other end of the same HDMI cable into the HDMI port on your TV.
